Conference Link
Typical Applications
Remote Support
Conference Link allows support engineers to connect with customer workstations and run software programs in real-time. File transfer features allow a support engineer to move pertinent files or programs between the workstations. The support engineer can also perform custom configuration directly on the remote machine. As an example, a customer might have a data file, such as an engineering drawing, that is in question. The support engineer would transfer the drawing file to his machine and then display the drawing on both machines simultaneously. Either user could then view, modify, and manipulate the drawing as desired.
Training
Conference Link allows dialup as well as networked training sessions. For local area or wide area networks, multiple machines can be connected to a base machine where the teacher can control and drive the machine at each students desk.
Sales/Marketing
As a sales tool, Conference Link allows application engineers to support multiple remote sales people. An application engineer can give live full-speed interactive presentations to customers at remote sites. A sales representative can quickly set up a system at a remote site and connect with an application engineer at the home office who then gives the live technical demonstration.
Collaborative Engineering
Using Conference Link, engineering teams can conference over new design concepts and review product characteristics simultaneously. The multimedia tools allow users to display captured images on the screen and view images of each other.
